 Justin Davis

  • Instruments: Electric guitar and bass, Classical, Flamenco, and Steel String acoustic guitar. All styles and abilities, ages six and up.

  • Info: Justin has been a passionate guitarist since he was in the 7th grade and is now a dedicated teacher and active performer.  In addition to receiving his Bachelors degree in classical guitar performance from Central Washington University, Justin studied Jazz performance at Cornish College of the Arts and Flamenco guitar in Salamanca, Spain.  Justin emphasizes technique, music theory, analysis, sight reading, and composition in his studio curriculum; essential skills for successful and creative guitarists.

 Rupert Kettle          

  • Instrument: Guitar, Slide and Lap Steel, Music Theory and Jazz Improvisation for all instruments and beginning piano. Currently accepting new students of all ages and abilities.

  • Info: Kettle began playing the guitar at the age of twelve, studying first with Chuck Bennett and later John Stowell, Jamie Findley and Rich Dangel. He attended Cornish College of the Arts where he was emplyed as a Music theory and Jazz Piano tutor. At Cornish, he had the opportunity to study composition and jazz improvisation from Julian Priester and Denny Goodhew. Kettle strives to to create individualized lesson plans to meet the specific goals of his students.

     


 Jane Landstra

  • Info: Jane uses Kato Havas method of beginning violin or teaches a student-paced, by-ear method with sheet music available with tunes from her vast repetoire. She's now using/studying Cape Breton style of piano backup. She teaches in the North Kitsap Public School District, giving after school lessons. Her dynamic dance playing/training embraces multiple fiddle styles: Cape Breton/Scottish, Nordic, New England, Early English Countrydance, S.W. Cajun. She teaches Hardangerfiddle of Norway, and it's flat fiddle province styles or divers Swedish styles and harmonizing. Jane has a BA and teaching credentials from the University of Berkeley, CA.

  • Info: Currently accepting new students. Steve says... "Over the last 10 years, my private instruction has ranged over several cities, age groups, and instruments. I now reside in Bainbridge Island and have taught here since 1998. My degree, which I received from University of Miami, is in Jazz Bass. Musically, I've focused upon: playing for business and art, private and group instruction, composition making CD's, and writing music for video games. After 20 years of playing, I have realized that the important thing in music, is enjoyment."

 Linda C. Slater

  • Info: Linda is a licensed, trained Kindermusik teacher who is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with music and movement. She is a member of Puget Sound Kindermusik Teachers association, Kindermusik Educators Association and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She attends seminars and workshops to keep current with teaching methods, ideas and technology. She enjoys watching her young students grow musically and her goal is to help others explore their musical environment with the essence of sheer "fun".

Stuart Williams         

  • Instruments: Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin & Pennywhistle. Currently accepting new students of all ages and abilities.

  • Info:  Stuart has studied the fiddle traditional styles of Ireland and (Scottish) Cape Breton and is also at home on the Irish (wooden) flute and pennywhistle as well as fiddle in these styles. He has performed regularly at festivals, fiddle contests, contra and square dances for the last twenty-five years. Currently he performs with "Pleasures of Home," a mega-contra dance band drawing on traditional Northwestern and New England repertoire and featuring the twin fiddling of Stuart Williams and 1999 National Seniors Champion Vivian Williams.Fiddler, Stuart Williams plays hard driving Missouri hoedowns, spirited Canadian jigs and reels and lyrical old time waltzes. His playing is based on a traditional Northwestern dance style developed from twenty-five years of playing and studying with the senior old time dance fiddlers of Oregon, Idaho and Washington.
