Evening Classes and Music Lessons at The Island Music Guild's Community Music Academy (ICMA)
The IMG community music education program, offering individual music lessons and group lessons, including academic classes catering for those interested in learning non-instrumental aspects of music such as music theory, recording techniques, music history and so on, as well as playing in ensemble classes. The IMG offers a certificate of achievement to those attaining sufficient credit. Check the Schedule for more information

Individual Music Lessons are offered in Piano, Violin, Viola, Fiddle, Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Drums, Voice, Woodwind and music technology. Our music instructors at the IMG are professional and experienced, teaching at the facility which is managed and purpose built for music education. There is good parking, social areas for waiting parents and a music library.  Students have performance opportunity at recitals, and can be introduced to other aspects of music such as ensemble playing and recording.  All students who enroll for music lessons through the IMG will automatically become members with associated benefits benefits. Please call our front office (206 780 6911) to speak to someone about music lessons. You can meet our teachers on the Faculty page. If we cannot fill your music instruction needs, we can help you find a local teacher through our network of members.

Other Classes
There are other regular group lessons held at the guild. The popular KinderMusik program is detailed here.  Suzuki piano began September 2007, run by Keely Sawyer. If you don't want lessons, but are looking for the chance to play music with others and improve your skills, try the less formal "Drop In" workshops and keep an eye on the members pages for posted interests and announcements.
