Coming up at Island Music Center: Saturday, February 4 – 7:00 PM - Jazz Canvas - $20 General Admission, $10 Students - Jazz Canvas – a fusion of arts, is a 2-hr. performance combining the work of musicians and a painter who begins and ends a work of art in response to the music. Each performance features a guest musician and is unique, unrehearsed and spontaneous – in the best of jazz traditions. At the end of each evening, the painting is raffled off to a lucky winner. Jazz Canvas is proud to feature Kitsap’s own, Dave Carson on saxophone on February 4 at a different Kitsap location, The Island Music Center on Bainbridge Island. Dave is one of the most well renowned saxophonists in the Northwest. He has played with many greats, Mel Torme and Smokey Robinson just to name a few. The band will consist of Terry Marsh on drums, Josh Mason on Keys, and Tracie Marsh on Bass. The Painter is Desiree Shafman. Tickets are available on their website www.jazzcanvas.org
Friday, February 10th, 7:30 PM- Island Music Center is proud to present Valerie Markell Gallagher and Lynne Ferguson. Valerie Markell is a gifted vocalist, songwriter and guitarist. With an Indie/folk style that is often laced with symbolic themes, she creates a rich and passionate emotional tapestry through her evocative and powerful velvet voice. Lynne has a wonderful voice and a unique way of weaving words with the music. Her arrangement of Taj Mahal's Farther on Down the Road eventually led to performances with the legendary bluesman himself.

Saturday, March 3rd, 7:00 PM – Bainbridge Has The Blues Benefit Concert for Island Music Center. Peter Spencer, The Excellos, The Julie Duke Band. All proceeds go to purchase new sound gear for the Concert Hall. Suggested Donation $20.00
